A very intense month with several great activities with our dear friends along with our 12th anniversary, mother's day and my b-day... all great occasions to celebrate...and we love doing plenty of that in this household...whenever we even have 1/2 a reason to celebrate anything we go ahead and put a champaign bottle in the fridge ;o) !! Life is too short, right? We need to highlight ALL our magic moments...
We've also been soooooooo busy with the lonnnnnnng lasting construction that we've done in the house....no wonder I have not done any postings for almost 4 months...this whole project just seemed endless and very stressful at times! When you have people in and out of your home all day for 11 weeks it can get old! Gosh, we'll think twice now if we ever decide to do any work in the house again.
And Mr. Luca is doing great... he is now almost 2yrs and 4 mo. old, very healthy and SUUUUUPER active...even more now than ever! Can you believe that? I can't either...He is a very curious, independent and determined little boy who is constantly on the move. Now his passion is to play with dirt in our backyard (or where ever he goes basically) and mamma goes crazy always washing his nails and dirty clothes. He also continues to be very sociable and friendly to others (and even to strangers!) and just looooooves to be around older kids. He's so outgoing and not shy at all in any and all surroundings that he may find himself!
We keep working on his speech since he is quite behind for his age. We will probably start therapy in June so that he can catch up soon. I am aware that the 3 languages (plus some sign language) that we are simultaneously teaching him is probably influencing the speed in which he is maturing his speech, but, I am still passionate about teaching him all that now that his little brain is still a very powerful sponge. Time will tell and we have to wait and see... I know and just keep hoping with all my heart that he will only benefit from all these languages and different cultural roots in the long run. It is hard for me to see him so behind on his talking now but I am following a mother's heart, that's all! ;o)
And here is the prince... Luca, Lulu, Luquinha, Luluzinho, Lucotto, Luchino, Lu, etc...A boy with many nicknames!
On May 2nd, at Tia Angelis' home celebrating her b-day....here we have her, Tio Jason and my friend Andrew Chevalier!

May 5th....My 1st trip to the dentist....
Yeah, this chair is cool guys....
But that's enough...get me outta here now.... Luca did great at the dentist, cried a little but nothing too major! Doc told us to brush 2x a day and floss 1x a day....now try flossing a toddler: Challenging with capital C to say the least...doc also told us to start saving for braces that he most likely will need it.... oh well, whatever, I still think it's too early to tell but he told me he knows already 'cause Luca's baby teeth are not very spaced out as they should be at this age!

On the same day we went to a restaurant to celebrate Zio Nano's b-day.... Happy b-day Zio Nano, we were so happy to spend some time with you on your special day!!

This was on Tuesday, May 25th....Mommy's b-day... we started off by going to the "mommy and me" class that we took this month. Lots of kids and lots of play time...

Then we went to a very nice and relaxing place to have lunch and celebrate mamma's b-day...
There we met with Tia Angelis, Andrew and Tia Luciana...
And they are such special and wonderful friends of my mom....they had planned so many surprises for her and even managed to sneak in a b-day cake with candles and everything... YOU GIRLS ARE SIMPLY THE BEST!!!! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING and for making this day SO-VERY-EXTRA special to my mommy!!! ;o) WE LOVE YOU!!!
Happy b-day to Mamma Lolo... Gaio had to be in Mexico for work that day... and already being away from my family on my b-day is one of the harderst things for me! But with the loving support of my 2 AWESOME Brazilian friends I felt so loved and so much closer to home!

May 29th...with my friend Khloe' Hernandez at Tom's Farms in Corona... isn't she just toooooo cute? Her mommy used to work with mine...Great seeing you guys, Karla!!
May 30th...Playing in the pool with daddy...finally the weather is getting better...and I can float pretty well by myself with that thing on!
Last day of this "mommy and me" class... Luca really enjoyed it and we might be taking another one similar to this one in July.
The day started off ugly looking and raining quite a bit...but then at one point a little bit of sun came out to greet us and a beautiful rainbow formed in the sky... Just for Luca!! ;o)
So the table was ready...And this year the theme was Curious George, the monkey... Luca loves to watch that cartoon and he kinda acts like him too... very curious, touches everything, gets in all kinds of mischief and communicates using only silly sounds and signs.... just like George! ;o)
And we had monkeys, monkeys and more monkeys everywhere in the house...and some wine too, of course!
Everything was ready to wait for our guests....good food, balloons, flowers, drinks, snacks, etc...
And the prince was getting ready in his room...
Nana Silvia was here this year to celebrate with us...yayyyyyy....it was SO special to have her here!

Then trying to blow my candles.... I could almost do it... daddy helped me a little but I knew exactly how to do it but not enough air was coming out of my mouth...
Then I said "yayyyyyyyy" and put both my arms up as it was the best thing I had ever done...
Then singing again in Portuguese... "Parabens pra voce, nesta data querida, muitas felicidades, muitos anos de vida!!! E' pique, e' pique...."
Blowind my candles again...
And throwing my arms up again... I just loved blowing candles!
Mommy, let me light these candles again...they are awesome to keep blowing a million times!
Then we sang one more time (believe it or not)....in Italian now....on my birthdays we always sing in all 3 languages... what a trilingual home!! ;o) My friend Christian helped me to blow the candles this time...
